AML & KYC Policy
Anti-money-laundering and verification rules — last updated May 2026
1. Why AML & KYC Checks Exist
Anti-Money-Laundering (AML) and Know-Your-Customer (KYC) checks are a legal requirement under Curaçao licensing rules and South African financial-intelligence regulations (FICA).
They protect players (preventing account takeover and fraudulent withdrawals) and protect the casino from being used to launder funds or finance illegal activity.
Every regulated online casino — including Springbok — must run these checks. Refusing or failing them means withdrawals cannot be released.
2. What Documents Springbok Casino Requests
Proof of Identity (PoI): clear colour photo of your green ID book, smart ID card or international passport. Both sides where applicable.
Proof of Address (PoA): a utility bill, bank statement or municipal account dated within the last 90 days, showing your name and physical address.
Proof of Payment Method (PoP): a photo or screenshot of the card used (first 6 and last 4 digits visible only — middle digits masked), or a bank-issued screenshot for EFT.
Additional source-of-funds documentation may be requested for large withdrawals (typically over R50,000) — payslips, bank statements or a letter from your employer.
3. When Checks Are Triggered
First withdrawal: full KYC verification is mandatory before any payout.
Cumulative deposits over the Enhanced Due Diligence threshold: source-of-funds may be requested.
Suspicious activity: bonus abuse, multiple accounts, mismatched IP/payment details or rapid deposit-withdraw patterns will trigger a review.
Periodic re-verification: every 12–24 months, in line with FICA refresh rules.
4. How to Submit Documents
Upload through the secure document-upload portal inside your Springbok Casino account, or email scans to verification@springbokcasino.co.za.
Never send documents via WhatsApp, SMS, social media DMs or public file-sharing links.
Documents are encrypted in transit and stored in a restricted-access compliance vault.
5. Processing Times
Standard KYC review: 24–48 hours from submission of complete documents.
Enhanced Due Diligence (large withdrawals): 3–5 business days.
Incomplete or unclear documents are the #1 reason for withdrawal delays — see /springbok-casino-withdrawal-verification for upload tips.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to know why a check has been triggered and what documents are required.
You have the right to access, correct or request deletion of your KYC data after account closure, subject to the operator's legal retention obligations (typically 5 years under FICA).
If you believe a check has been applied unfairly, see /dispute-resolution for the escalation path.
